About this role
This is a broad individual-contributor role responsible for research, information architecture, interaction design, and polished UI across a complex B2B SaaS platform. The designer works directly with customers, product, and engineering to take ideas from early exploration through tested prototypes and production-ready interfaces.
As the company's only dedicated designer, this person manages and evolves the design system, chooses the appropriate level of fidelity for each problem, and helps the team explore useful AI-supported workflows. The product includes dashboards, multi-step processes, data-heavy states, and interactive mapping tools for energy and infrastructure teams.

- Lead design from customer discovery through production-ready UI across Transect's core platform.
- Create clearer patterns for dashboards, mapping tools, multi-step workflows, and complex application states.
- Maintain a reusable design system that improves consistency and product-delivery speed.
